Peggy MacArthur
isowner of Birch Corner Associates, a family therapist and a Life Coach. Through her personal and professional challenges and successes Peggy understands the demands of striving for peak performance. She offers her clients a wealth of knowledge, skills and perspectives from her experiences as a nationally competitive figure skater, working in a Fortune 500 company and a career as a therapist.
During her tenure as a human resources manager at Energizer global head-quarters, Peggy gained expertise in developing competency models. She implemented 360 performance reviews, created and conducted training programs and coached employees to increase their effectiveness.
As a nationally recognized competitive figure skater, she reached her goal of becoming a gold medalist. Then, for 16 years she used her experience to coach skaters of all ages who sought to learn new skills and have fun doing it.
Currently Peggy divides her vocational time between being a systems therapist, working with individuals and people in relationship, and a wellness and transformational coach. She inspires individuals to discern the life that will truly fulfill them and celebrates with them as they tap into, trust and act with their inner wisdom.
Peggy has her BA from Drew University and her MSW from Washington University. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
President of Birch Corner Associates, Bob MacArthur is a seasoned leader who brings a breadth and depth of experience to his coaching clients. He does both Executive Coaching and Life Coaching.
For 19 years he was President and CEO of the American Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit youth development organization. An innovative programmer and manager, Bob led AYF through a period of significant growth. In addition to expanding service delivery year round at several sites, he enhanced board effectiveness and introduced personnel and systems for fund development, alumni relations, human resources and risk management. He led AYF through two capital campaigns that raised over $30 million to renovate and construct facilities at three sites and endow scholarships and ongoing maintenance.
For 12 years Bob directed the Outward Bound Center at Dartmouth College, integrating the national character development program within the academic and residential life of a major university. He also served an interim year as College Chaplain and Dean of the William Jewett Tucker Foundation, coordinating programs to foster the moral and spiritual growth of Dartmouth students.
An effective collaborator, Bob has worked with heads of business, education, government, community-based organizations, corporate foundations and private philanthropies. Recognized as a leader in national and community service, he helped bring AmeriCorps to the city of St. Louis public schools and in 1997 led the St. Louis delegation to the Presidents' Summit in Philadelphia which launched America's Promise.
Bob is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. He is a Certified Self Management Coach (CSMC) and a member of the consultants network of the New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits. He coaches executives, senior management teams, educational leaders, small business owners, independent professionals and nonprofit boards to improve performance and accountability.
Valuing fitness from his days as a varsity athlete, Bob maintains physical conditioning through running and weight training. He has run five marathons, including qualifying for and completing the Boston marathon at age 60.
